Highlight for the Fall 2026-2027 Kickoff Season:

Confirmation - The next opportunity for our Youth to be Confirmed is when Archbishop Foley Beach visits St. Thomas on Sunday, September 27th.
Communication - Sam regularly sends out newsletters and e-mails to St. Thomas Youth Parents / Guardians. If you need to be added to the distribution list, send Sam an e-mail. There is also a St. Thomas Parents GroupMe for Kids & Youth that you can join for informal connection.

St. Thomas Youth

We want to invite the next generation into a mature faith through a balanced approach in St. Thomas Youth where we partner with parents, integrate Youth into the life of the church, and help them make their faith their own. There isn’t a separate worship service or offering for Youth on Sunday mornings by design. You will see them sitting, participating, and serving alongside our church family as full members of the body. But we do think it’s helpful to gather them together for community, dialogue, formation, and fun. This gives us a both / and approach that we hope develops faith, serves our families, and even gives us the potential for evangelism with students who don’t have faith or even go to St. Thomas yet.

Weekly Gatherings for Middle School & High School Students

Wednesdays, 6 pm - 8 pm at the Parish House

The main gathering for St. Thomas Youth each week is on Wednesday nights from 6 pm - 8 pm at our Parish House (395 S. Church St. Athens, GA 30605). Fall Gatherings have resumed! Dinner is served each week and there is time for fellowship and worship together. We break up into different groups by age for study and discussion. Each group is led by a team of staff and volunteers. Volunteers are members of St. Thomas in good standing who have also passed a background check and received training in safeguarding.

Family Prayer & Catechesis

This Fall we are introducing a home resource for youth and their families to engage for 1 month together!

This resource will help Youth and their Parents explore the Prayer Book, engage their faith, and work through parts of the catechism. All may participate, but all must who would like to be Confirmed when Archbishop Foley Beach visits St. Thomas on Sunday, September 27th.

(We use a different Confirmation process for our Youth since many of them were baptized at a young age and are Confirming the promises made on their behalf, whereas many of our adults are coming to us from other traditions and being Confirmed / Received into the Anglican Church.)

St. Thomas Youth Events

St. Thomas Youth regularly hosts events for fun and fellowship! We also have service projects together and retreats. The next events coming up on the St. Thomas Youth Calendar are a Bowling Night and our Youth Advent Party.
