Shepherding Team
An Additional, Proactive Layer of “One Another” Pastoral Care
The Shepherding Team is one of the newer teams at St. Thomas stemming from our desire to see all of our members well cared for and supported pastorally. There are lots of ways for that to happen right now at St. Thomas through our clergy, staff, groups, various studies, friendships, and various serving teams. The Shepherding Team is an additional group of trained a team of lay leaders to serve alongside and under our clergy.
Proactive Communication - Each leader on this team is assigned members to connect with on a regular basis and be available for prayer and conversation. These assignments rotate on an annual basis (around Pentecost Sunday) and new leaders are trained and commissioned each Spring. The goal is for this to add to all of the ways care and support happens at St. Thomas. Any of our members are also welcome to reach out to our clergy team for a pastoral need. Many of these lay shepherds are also in the ordination process and this is a key part of their ministry development. We are excited to see the members of the Shepherding Team grow and use their gifts for ministry in this way!
