We are a vibrant, disciple-making liturgical church that is all about the Gospel. Our vision is to build for the kingdom of God in our university town by making disciples of all ages, inviting the next generation into a mature faith, and cultivating leaders. We do this by making disciples in the beauty of holiness for the sake of the world.
Gospel Foundation
The Gospel is the announcement that Jesus is Lord. It is deep, rich, and beautiful. It has cosmic implications and is intensely personal. All things are being made new and we are brought back into relationship with our Triune God through the finished work of Christ on the Cross and his mighty resurrection. Through the Sacraments of the Church and the work of the Holy Spirit, the worshipping community is shaped into the image of Christ and sent on mission. We believe that our skeptical culture is in desperate need of witnessing the Gospel faithfully embodied, clearly proclaimed, and joyfully demonstrated.
Core values / Commitments
Welcome - Gospel hospitality valuing unity and charity as we bear with one another in love. (Romans 15:7, Ephesians 4:2)
Abide - Participation in the life of the Triune God through regular rhythms of spiritual formation and corporate worship in community. (John 15, Matthew 11:30)
Follow - Following the Great Commandment and the Great Commission in line with the Great Tradition of the Church. (Matthew 22:37-39, Matthew 28:19-20, Jude 3)
Engage - Generously steward our financial resources, serve one another from our gifts, and go out in mission and mercy from St. Thomas. (2 Cor. 9:7, John 20:21, Ephesians 2:10, 4:12)
Anglican - The Anglican Church is a biblically based church with ancient roots that helps us grow as followers of Jesus and serve Him as Christians in the world.
Culture - By God’s grace we at STAC are seeking to cultivate a church family and team environment that is sustainable, accountable, pastoral, and collaborative.
