Summer 2026 at St. Thomas
We are eagerly anticipating this Summer together as a parish family!
Our hope and prayer is that Summer is marked by joy, rest, fellowship, and preparation.
Summer is the perfect time for informal gatherings! The best place to connect for those kinds of events are the different Group Me channels that are active in our church. We also have a new church-wide Group Me for Prayer & Care where we can list prayer requests together. That helps us all know what to pray for together and helps free up the different demographic channels to focus on informal events like playdates, meals, happy hours, etc. over the more relaxed pace of the Summer months! Special Worship Services
May has several festive Sundays that will be really special for us. We’ll mark the Ascension together and celebrate our (high school) graduating seniors together on May 17th. May 24th is Pentecost Sunday and our Children’s Choir is performing at the 11 AM service! May 31st is Trinity Sunday with Baptisms and welcoming our newest members.
We also begin Summer Family Worship on May 31st which will continue through July until our Fall Kickoff on August 2nd. For more info, check out the May STAC Kids Newsletter.
Dinners for 9 - June & July
Every Summer we host a series of Fellowship Dinners called Dinners for 9! This is a great opportunity for our church community to enjoy a laid-back atmosphere and simply get to know each other over a meal. These dinners are made up of 9 individuals (some may have a few more counting kiddos) and will be hosted at homes in and around Athens. Each dinner will be its own event that you can sign up for with a new group of folks every time. Dinners will be every other Wednesday, in June & July. Each host will let you know what time and what you can bring to share with the group.
