Austin “Tex” Bagley and his wife Marissa met in Athens while both were students at UGA. When he was 21 years old, Tex left Athens to begin work with Hands and Feet Ministries along the Mexican/US boarder. As the Field Director for Hands and Feet’s Piedras Negras and Nava, Mexico Mission, Tex spent four years working with a team of missionaries and local ministry leaders. After their time in Mexico, the Bagleys moved to Albuquerque, NM and spent three years helping start a new church. In 2014 after their second child was born, the Bagleys moved back to Georgia to be closer to family.

Tex and Marissa have three kiddos, Abigail, Malachi, and Eleanor. Since returning to Georgia, the Bagley’s have found their home within the Anglican Church. Tex and Marissa were confirmed in the Anglican Church in November of 2015. After spending 10 years away from the Classic City, the Bagley’s returned to Athens to be a part of the St. Thomas family in April of 2017. After a season as a “non-stipendiary, uber volunteer,” we have been able to bring Tex on staff as a Pastoral Associate! Tex oversees all logistics of our Sunday morning services along with opportunities for formation in community during the week and partnerships for mission and outreach. Tex was recently ordained as a Deacon. Tex also has amazing trailer driving skills, which comes in handy when having a mobile church!
